FAQ
What types of boats do you rent?
We offer pontoon boat rentals, ski boat rentals. We also rent kayaks, paddle boards, and water toys for all types of lake adventures on beautiful Shuswap Lake. Shuswap Marina Boat Rentals
Can I rent a boat for just an hour or two?
Yes, you can, but we will charge the half-day rate. We suggest planning in advance so you can take full advantage of the 4-hour half-day rental.
What is the latest time of day I can rent a boat?
We suggest our customers arrive no later than noon, as we need time to complete the required paperwork and boating licenses, select lifejackets, and go through the boat demo so you have enough time to fully enjoy your day on the lake.
When does the boat have to be returned?
During the low season, boats must be returned no later than 4:30 PM. During the high season, we ask that all boats be returned by 5:00 PM.
Should I book my rental ahead of time?
Yes, if you already know the dates you will be visiting Shuswap Lake, we strongly suggest booking your boat rental in advance. This helps avoid disappointment if the size or type of boat you are looking for is no longer available.
Can I book a half-day rental in advance?
No, sorry. We do not pre-book half-day rentals in advance, as half-day rentals are only available if the boat has not already been rented for a full day. We keep our options open for customers who wish to reserve the boat for the entire day.
Do I need a deposit to book my boat?
Yes, we do require a deposit by credit card to reserve your boat. For single-day rentals, we require a $400 deposit, and for multi-day rentals, we require up to a $1,000 deposit by credit card.
To complete your booking, you will need to call or email our marina, as we require your contact information, including your name, email address, and cell phone number.
What is your cancellation policy?
You are eligible for a full refund if you notify us at least 21 days before your booking date.
For safety reasons, Shuswap Marina reserves the right to cancel any boat rental if lake or weather conditions are considered unsafe. If this happens, our team will contact you as soon as possible and do our best to help rebook your rental, depending on availability.
Shuswap Marina also reserves the right to cancel or refuse any boat rental if we believe the driver is impaired or has consumed alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may affect their ability to safely operate the boat. In this situation, no refund will be issued.
Abuse toward Shuswap Marina staff will not be tolerated. This includes verbal abuse, threats, harassment, aggressive behaviour, or physical abuse. If this occurs, you will be asked to leave the premises immediately, no boat rental will be provided, and no refund will be issued.
Is fuel included?
Fuel is not included in the rental pricing. Boats are provided with fuel, and customers are responsible for fuel used during the rental period.
Can we bring pets on the boat?
Yes. We are pet-friendly, and well-behaved pets are welcome on many of our rental boats. A non-refundable pet fee of $50 per boat applies.
Do you rent Sea-Doos?
No, sorry, we do not rent Sea-Doos at our marina. We suggest contacting Finz or Bayside Marina, as both are located here in Blind Bay.
