FAQ
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my rental?
If unsafe weather conditions occur, please contact our team to discuss available options regarding your booking.
Where do you suggest I can check the weather for Shuswap Lake?
We strongly suggest checking Environment Canada Weather Forecasts before heading out on the lake, as weather conditions in the Shuswap can change quickly.
We also recommend paying attention to wind conditions, not just temperature, as strong winds can create unsafe boating conditions on the lake.
If weather conditions are considered unsafe, our marina staff reserve the right to cancel rentals for safety reasons. Your safety is our top priority.
What should we bring with us?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, towels, swimsuits, snack, drinks, sunglasses, and appropriate lake clothing. Our marina store also carries many summer essentials and boating accessories.
What safety equipment is included?
Your rental includes the basic required boating equipment, such as paddles, a fire extinguisher, safety kit, ropes, and fenders. All of our boats follow Transport Canada safety requirements and regulations.
What happens if I pick up the wrong size lifejacket for my family member?
Please let our staff know immediately before leaving the marina. We have a variety of lifejacket sizes available and will gladly help make sure everyone in your group has the proper fit.
For safety reasons, all passengers must wear the correct size lifejacket while using our rental boats and water toys.
What happens if the boat breaks down?
If anything happens while you are on the water, please call us immediately. You can find our phone number on the dashboard of every one of our rental boats.
What happens if I have other kind of emergencies?
For medical or other emergencies, the safest thing to do is call 911.
Can I operate the boat at night?
All of our boats are equipped with navigation lights. If you are operating the boat at night, please make sure the lights are turned on. However, we do not recommend boating after dark, as it can be unsafe due to limited visibility and the possibility of floating debris or other hazards on the lake.Your safety is our top priority.
